Any recommendations on a good jewelry holder/organizer?

I have a lot of jewelry... mainly necklaces, but quite a few rings, bracelets, and earrings as well. Does anyone know of a good organizer/holder with a lot of room for necklaces especially? Thank you! :) I'd rather something where I can see all my necklaces hanging so I can pick out the perfect one for an outfit.. so boxes are not exactly ideal. I have amoire right now, but it's far too small and doesn't have enough hang space... just two sides, and the rest are drawes.

  1. My roommate hangs up necklaces on the wall or somewhere using thumb tacks or paperclips.
  2. its not pretty but i bought a clear box from walmart and it has lots of compartments and its easy to throw in my suitcase when i travel http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10569392 this one is similar to the one i have but mine has more compartments ...this one is a tackle box but i believe they have some in the craft section for beads and stuff
  3. I also have TONS of jewelry, and I make jewelry. I'm always doodling around with different jewelry and bead ideas and storage is a big issue and I've gone through lots of different types of storage systems. If you want something fairly formal, a good quality jewelry armoire is ideal, plenty of room for anything. But they can be pricey...I see them sometimes (usually in less than ideal condition) at thrift and estate sales. A friend of mine has one now he wants to sell...so if you're in central california... But what I really like for my constantly moving around projects is plastic flatware holders...like the ones you can get at the dollar store. I really like the ones that have three long, one extra long and one short dividers...I buy as many as I can find so I can stack them, even when they are half full.
