Jewellery Stand

I'm a VERY messy girl trying to organize my room... help (please read)!?

I bought a bookcase, a jewelry box, and a closet shoe holder thingy to get some stuff organized, but I have so much crap it's difficult to decide where everything should go. For instance, where should I keep my purses? I have like twenty of them and usually they're on the floor, on my bed, etc. I have sixteen drawers in my room, most of which are empty. I also have an empty closet.. lol, my clothes have lived in the laundry room until now because I've been too lazy to fold them and stuff. What goes in the closet and what goes in the drawers? Also, where do hair products and stuff go? HELP!

  1. What I did was put all of my trinkets and crap in boxes in the basement. That got rid of a lot of stuff. Then I divided my closet into shirts and pants with my dresser in the middle. I only put underwear pajamas and sports wear in my dresser. In my other plastic drawers I keep my hair stuff, random junk that I can't get rid of, my collection of lip gloss, and electronics. on my dresser i have my makeup and jewelry. I have hooks on the back of my door for my purses but the rest I keep on my top shelf in my closet. I never put anything under my bed... ugh. My desk has all of my seven books and a bunch of magazines on a shelf. I also have a jar of coins hidden on my desk. Everything has a place. If you always put your stuff where it goes then it will be clean. Get photo boxes and baskets to keep you organized. Decorate you room nicely so that it will keep you motivated to have it clean. Don't put a ton of posters and pics all over your walls because it looks cluttered.
  2. Generally, underwear and socks go in the drawers. Maybe t-shirts also and shorts You should put your purses on the shelf in the closet. I would reserve a corner of the bookshelf for a cute wicker tote for your hair products. Make one of your drawers (probably the top one) for other beauty products like makeup.
  3. you need some serious help seriosly ok for instanse put all the clean cloths maybe in your drawrs use them stack ure purses in one pile byu the way ure just like me im always messy hey we have something in common my mom usually screams at me all the time for not cleaning my room
  4. I have the same problem. I'm sper lazy, and so disorganized! You should go through your stuff and decide what to keep, what to give away, what to sell, ect. After that, put things like underwear and stuff in your drawers, P.Js, and clothes you normally don't wear in your drawers. In your closet, you can hang up all the clothes you wear for work or school, and things like jeans, pants, and skirts. Purses can go in the closet, I usually put mine on the shelves inside my closet. Jewelry of course goes on the jewelry box, the jewelry box can go on the bookcase. On the bookcase you can put thinks like books(well duhh xP) and stuff you need to grab quickly. Also put your hairproducts in the bathroom, like in the medicine cabnet(things that fit!) and the bigger things out on the counter or under the sink. Hope I helped! :]
  5. If you don't want your purses in your drawers try these plastic drawer things (sources) for your purses, and maybe by a medicine cabinet for your hair sprays and etc, or a light shelf (OR maybe even in your new drawers). For your clothing, I would put all my nice shirts, or easily wrinkled clothing in the closet. Put all your jeans, pants, in one drawer, and skirts dresses in another, etc. (something like that) Hope I helped
  6. This will be a daunting process, but you need to sift through what you own and divide into the following piles; keep, donate, toss. If you haven't used that item in the last year, chances are you probably won't ever again. So why not donate your things to someone who needs them? Throw away things that aren't in good enough shape to give away. Next, get that closet of yours in use! Put all your nice clothes in there. Shirts hung on top, sweaters and long sleeve shirts on the bottom, and pants folded and put on racks. You have 16 drawers, thats a lot! Umm lets see.. One for socks, underwear, bras, sports clothes, jammies, bathing suits, belts and accessories, purses, etc.. So long as they are not mixed and unorganized. You can even use drawers to store things like a hair dryer, makeup, nail polish, hair products and whatnot, so everything you need to get ready in the morning is right where you need it and not cluttering anything up. I have a chair at the entrance of my room, and it seems to be a dumping zone for clothes I change out of. I clean that every two days, or before someone comes over and it takes five minutes to seperate cleans from uncleans. Make sure to get a nice big hamper too, to prevent dirty clothes from piling on the floor. Use your new bookshelf for your schoolwork, and get little decorative storage boxes to keep pencils, markers, construction paper, glue, and general school/craft supplies. While your at it, why not rearrange your room too? Change it a bit, get it how you like it, and you'll want to keep it clean! The biggest thing about keeping a room clean though, is to return everything where you got it when your finished with it. Simple!
  7. The easiest way to get organized and stay organized, is really just to sit down and think about it. What items do you use the most often, what items do you use every day, what items do you use every week, what things do you never use. Come up with a plan. Some people work better with a written plan, some people just get an idea in their head and can work with it, but you want the plan. Make sure you're plan makes sense to you, because if it doesn't make sense, you won't use it. Once you have your plan, start the organization. Don't try for the whole room at once. Work through, one section at a time, and fill that section with the items you've decided to put there. For example, if you start in a chest of drawers, you'll be more than likely sorting cloths, and whatever goes on top of a chest of drawers. For a night stand, perhaps alarm clock, a box of tissues, a scented candle, book currently reading, magazine currently reading, diary, pen, lamp, and jewelry. (I'm a guy, my night stand has firearms instead of jewelry). Working in zones let you focus on one thing at a time. Looking at your room objectively in sections will aid to speed things along as you'll be less likely side tracked, as well as keep things in the predetermined order. The most important thing again, it has to be a plan that makes sense to you.
