selling jewelry at a garage sale..how should I display them? =]
So our family is have a garage sale next weekend and we are selling a lot of jewelry including necklaces, earrings, rings, pins, bracelets and a lot more.. Most of it is valuable and we don't want it to get stolen. So, my question is, do you have any ideas about how I could display all the jewelry in a way that it can't get stolen (like tied to something) and it would be high enough to see and eye-catching to people. Thanks a lot! ps. i also have a lot of jewlery in my room that I want to display nicely so I can have easy access to it. right now, I have my jewlery in containers and I need a better and cheap way I could hang the jewlery on my dresser..(I dont want anything hanging on my walls) You know I want some ideas that I could make myself, if not something that looks like a coffee mug holder. a shower rod is way to0 big..

- lay em down on a table.
- display like their worth a million dollars!
- I have my necklaces and bracelets on hooks that are over a towel rod. Earrings in a little chest on the counter. Headbands over the rod, too. Hairclips in a pretty bowl. Scarves on hangers on hooks on the inside of my closet door.
- well just first be aware comes and have someone always by it u can clips earrings to a pillow and just have them out or u can have them away and only bring them out when someone specifically ask for jewlery
- 1. You can display earrings and stuff like that by sticking them in a pin-board or that cork material and put the pinboard high so people cant reach them 2. A glass case or soemthing like that 3. Also to display jewelry nicley you can by a cheap photoframe and put some tulle material in place of where the photo should go and then put earings through the holes in the material! i have made it and it looks really cool!
- ummm ok valuable jewelry really shoudn't be sold at a garage sale. but if it must than but it in some sort of see through case with a lock. for ur storage prob in ur room i use a finger thingy for my rings. theres this thing i bought at claires and its like metal with little holes poked into it for earrings. and i use this thing that looks like a lower case t with little metal balls at the end for my necklaces.
- For rings: Take a really long peice of wire and bend it so it looks like a hand. Put the rings on the fingers, and stick the wire hand into some basic craft foam to hold it up For bracelets: Take another long peice of wire and bend it so it looks like this: |_| (flipped upside down) Put your braceletes on an empty toilet paper roll (you could cover it in black wrapping paper to make in fancier). Then thread the tube through the wire and stick the wire ends in craft foam to make a stand. For necklaces: Take a large peice of cardboard and cut rectangle notches out of it by making three halfh-inch cuts to form three side of a rectangle. Leave one side connencted, so it it like a hook. Dangle the necklace over the hook and tape it down with clear scotch tape. Repeat for all the necklaces
- Oh! I have a couple of suggetions: 1. Get a bunch of clear shot glasses, or a large-mouthed, clear bowl to display dangly earrings. 2. Buy a piece of foam core, fluff, and cheap-but-pokeable fabric. Fabric on top, fluff in middle, and foam core at the bottom, staple or glue the fabric around the back of the foam core and then push earrings through it. 3. A crapload of pegs. 4. I don't even know what this is called, I guess mesh? or plastic-mesh stuff (almost like fly-swatter type material) from a craft store and hang little earrings off of it. Sorry I mostly have suggestions for earrings lol :(
- Attach the earrings to a cork board. And hang the necklaces on a shower rod.
- You can find at super-saver-store a cheap jewelry box which has a see-through glass and a nice dispenser for all types of jewelries.
