What does the "t" stand for around people's necks?
I've seen a lot of people wear necklaces with a t pendant. I know it is a Christian religious symbol, but I was wondering what the "t" stands for.

- Back door is open for business.
- Its a cross. Not a t. It serves as a reminder that Christ died on the cross.
- Good God, please tell me you know the difference between a cross and a T. Please.
- are you talking about a cross?
- Its not a "T" its a cross, like the cross that Jesus was crucified on.
- trick or treat?
- i'm thinking it may be a cross
- The cross that jesus was hung on.Are you christian?
- truth
- It is a cross that jesus was on.
- your question brought out a lot of people without a sense of humor
- It is not supposed to be a "T" it is supposed to be a cross. Symbolic of the cross that Christ was nailed to. Personally I do not care for them. God never wanted a GRAVEN image (idol) to symbolize him, yet many Christians carry their idols around their necks.
- The † stands for "†angled brain" because all christians are brainwashed so intensely from the day they are born that their brain becomes a †angled and scrambled mess by the time they reach adulthood. ....
- That's a small version of the thing Jesus was killed on. They call it a cross. And, I don't get it. I mean, if my son were to die from a gun shot, I wouldn't want all his friends to wear guns or bullets around their necks.
- Upside down it's Thor's Hammer of course. Tsk tsk silly atheist. ;) XOXO
- It is an affirmation of life and happiness. It advocates communion and unity among all who see it. That symbol expresses freedom from suffering and sense of hope wherever the wearer is placed by life.
- You are joking, right?
- There's a remarkable song by Ginny Owens; worth your time to download the lyrics to "Beneath The Symbol Of A Lost Cause." The "T" means "Loser. Completely hopeless. Cursed. Utterly worthless and shameful." And then Jesus took the symbol of a lost cause and...well, you can guess the rest.
- All symbols stand for what the people who use them have assigned to them as representing. Usually a "t" symbol around the neck of a Christian symbolizes that Jesus died for their sins on a cross but He is not on the cross because after 3 days He rose from the dead. It is a reminder to them and a statement to those who see them wearing it that God loves people so much that He sent his Son to die in their place as payment for having broken God's laws. Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. When a Christian sees the symbol of the cross which is shaped like the letter "t" it should remind them of how they are supposed to act like their Savior acted in their relationships to others. It should remind them of God's love and sacrifice that He made for them and they should be willing to exhibit the same time of sacrificial love towards others.
- It isn't a "t", dear one, it is a cross, which is a constant reminder of the love God had for us and the price He paid for us. But then, you knew that. You're just being facetious. ;-) God bless and Happy New Year!
- It means that they're at a crossroad in their lives.
- it means they worship such a horrible 'god' that he allowed his own kid to be tortured and murdered and they brag about worshipping him lol!!!!
- Its the symbol of a cult that came out of the 80's. Worship of a Man who challenged Rocky, and fell for our sins. The Cult is called The Ay-Teem. Pity the fool who worships not the "T".
