Amulet/Talisman Necklace With Small Glass Feet. Meaning?

Hi! My boyfriend recently brought a necklace from a trip to Mexico that was supposed to be an amulet. He does not want to tell me what the small glass feet hanging in this necklace stand for (there are about 3, different colors). Anyone ever heard/seen such thing before? Any ideas?
