- You should go door to door. Make sure the neighborhood is safe and you have an adult or other person with you when you do it. Also make sure your parents know where you will be. And consider bringing your cell phone as well! You will meet more customers door to door. It is unlikely that anyone would stop at a stand.
- Make a facebook page as your business page. A girl I know does that and she sells outfits she's worn once or twice. She has a facebook page and has pics of the clothes and the prices she's selling them for. Try it.
- A stand. Nobody likes door to door salesmen. Nobody.
- Here's your Business Plan: - First setup a stall in your neighbourhood probably for 4 to 12 weeks. Having stall in the vicinity will make you known to be trading in Jewelry, especially in your own neighbourhood. - Start approaching door-to-door in your neighbourhood only after running your stall for at least 4 weeks. When approaching door-to-door, particularly target those whom you have noticed gazing your display with interest or who have window shopped or might have asked for prices of a few items. During first 8-weeks in business, you will do this: First 4-weeks you will exclusively running stand, focusing entirely on stand sales only. Next 4-weeks, you will manage time in carrying out both the activities, i.e., Stand selling & Door selling. After completing 8 Weeks in business, you will do this: Compare Stand revenues of first 4-weeks with the last 4-weeks. - They must show good increment if you're selling successfully at the Doors. Ironic but so it is. Find out revenue ratio of last 4-weeks that you generated from Stand & from Door Selling - If the Stand is not able to generate 20% of what you might be generating from Door-to-door selling shut the Stand down and carry on with door activities only. - But if you are generating 21% or more then you must continue with the stand but giving relatively less time to Stand and putting more efforts on Door activities. - In case even if your Door activities generate less then 20% revenue, you will still continue with it however correcting your visiting time and your approach of selling need to be corrected. Remember: - You will have to manage your time smartly. - You will have to set timings for your stand --- You should be open when most of your Target Market is leaving home for work or when they are coming back to their homes. - You will have to carefully choose visiting time when approach them at their homes? You have to be sensetive to their privancy and knowing very well when they are really busy and just cannot receive you. Selling Tactics: From the 5th week onwards you can use off-display con-selling technique to charge better prices and to materialize selling too. Those propspective customers who keep visiting your stand and leave without making a pruchase. Tell them, there shall be more variety on the weekend which is reaching in limited quantities, So ask them if they would like to have a look at the fresh arrivals before everyone else? Charge them a prmium prices for the extra efforts you will put in. Sell them quality Sell them varitiey Sell them uniqueness Sell them the only piece of jewelry in the neighbourhood So, always holdback some really good stuff, keep it off-shelves to show it to your special customers and to charge a very special price for that. :)
- DO NOT GO DOOR TO DOOR - NOT SAFE! A better idea would be to take photos of your jewellery and make flyers and give them out to kids at school or drop them in letterboxes in your area. If you know a local shop owner they might put some of your jewellery in their shop for you; like the hairdressers, gift shop, local corner shop etc. Make sure you check with a parent before you do any of these things.
