Jewellery Stand

help needed for the ideal jewellery holder.?

hey there. i am a student taking design and technology course. this year, i am to do a jewellery holder. i need some ideas to get me started on what kind of jewellery holder would be appropriate for use in the real world. please, if u have a picture of where u keep your jewellery, e.g jewellery box, etc, please show it to me. if u have a better holder to keep your jewellery please take a picture of it and show it to me. i would really appreciate your kind help. or, if u have any idea on your ideal jewellery holder, please describe to me in detail. who knows maybe, my teacher would like it and sent it for production and be an item in the market... or tell me the problems u face in your jewellery holder, example, the necklaces always got tangled up, etc. thank you for your kind help. please give me some ideas. thank you. oh yes. before i forget, if u have any ideas on your ideal jewellery holder, be sure to have a earring holder, ring holder, bracelet holder, necklace holder all in your ideal jewellery holder. thank you once again.

  1. I wish I had a pic but I'll do my best. I used to run a high-end boutique and we were constantly coming up with ways to display our jewelry. I have always changed the ways I keep my jewelry around my house though and it works - no tangled messes for anything. I found a huge piece of red coral with so many branches, it is a stand, so I am able to place necklaces of any size or shape on them and I think I get more compliments on my jewelry holders than other more important things, but hey I take great pride. For my earrings, I use a silver stand that's much shorter and allows for each to be clipped on thus not allowing for them to fall or tangle. My rings are in an old antique jewelry box that I found at an old vintage store for $5 but it looks like it came out of Anthropologie. I am also able to place bracelets on my necklace holder as well. I use some space on the walls around my vanity to put up necklaces that are undeniably gorgeous - such as my grandmothers old things and mothers. I use hooks for these and they are so easy to create an make look extremely classy, accessible and decorative. Ex. of a hook from Urban but its so easy to make yourself if you go to the fabric store and pick up a sample of a print you like, then place it around a hook and hang to your desire: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=2996CD28E5B4C432D832DC398DE64360.app13-node8?itemdescription=true&itemCount=60&id=14071021&parentid=A_FURN_PRETTY&sortProperties=&navCount=37&navAction=poppush&color= Ex. of a similar necklace holder mine is much larger and sits like coral: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p9767/index.cfm?pkey=caccstrjbx For earrings: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=C7D799B1907C1EC51EDFF461BC9A3E1A.app13-node8?itemdescription=true&itemCount=60&id=14163208&parentid=A_FURN_PRETTY&sortProperties=&navCount=13&navAction=poppush&color= More coral looking but smaller: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=2996CD28E5B4C432D832DC398DE64360.app13-node8?itemdescription=true&itemCount=60&id=13213251&parentid=A_FURN_PRETTY&sortProperties=&navCount=37&navAction=poppush&color=
  2. I don't have a picture of my jewlery box but i will explain it the best i can. it has a long side door that pulls out and has a turn table to hang neclases on so they won't tangle, also on the side when u pull the door open there is a strip to put your rings.. then is has two draws and a smaller door above the draws that also has a turn table thing to hang braclets on it. The ONLY complaint I have with my jelwey bos is that I have to put my earings in the draws...i have tons of earings! it is an obbsession really lol and I would love something built into a jewlery box especialy for earings. <3
